⇒ ADVANTAGES //

→It uncovers scoops to the general public, and thanks to it we are always informed of the actuality.

→It makes it possible to discover places that we do not know : whether it's paradisiac places or places of war, it is always good to be aware of what happens, and where.

→Journalism is one of the pillars of our democracy, since it stems from freedom of the press, but also freedom of expression.

→Photojournalism, a branch of journalism, can approach art through its form and meaning. A photojournalist's pictures will make the viewer reflect while entertaining him through an artistic work.

⇒ DRAWBACKS //

→Freedom of expression ends where interest begins.

→The owners of the media are too often concerned with the economic interests of their newspapers. And economic interest now seems to outweigh the truth necessary to any democracy.

→The reader is king, but we must not content ourselves with giving him what he wants to hear. Too many media do it today.

→In addition, corporate lobbyists will make sure their reputation is safe. So by offering money in exchange, they make sure not to be a target.

→The journalists may sympathesize with the government, and thus consequently hide the truth about him. They can be corrupted.

→Some journalists profite of gullibility of readers, so they can influence them. They can make up stories, use fake and photomontages or give biased information.
